Patel Returns to Familiar Result

Rutherford NJ- The familiar sounds of 2 Pac crying were once again heard at Centre Court in Rutherford as the First Annual Slavik Brothers Tennisapalooza was completed. A parade was held in honor of the occasion & the festivities were under way. Ken Adamcik & Dipak Patel defeated Rob & Joe Slavik 7-5 6-1 in the first two sets. "We really wanted to bagel them in the second set there, but Slavik pride prevented it from happening," said Patel. " I was focused on the bagel until Pac tripped & fell trying to volley at the net & I sort of lost focus, not to mention the incredible fight the brothers put up," stated Adamcik.

Sides were switched in the third set & Ken Adamcik & Rob Slavik blanked Dipak Patel & Joe Slavik 6-0 giving Pac that familiar taste of a bagel. " Rob was really down after losing the first two sets, & I asked him if bageling Pac would cheer him up & his face lit up like a kid in a candy store, so I knew we had to pull it off." Rob Slavik added, " I felt bad for bageling my brother in his rookie appearance, but I guess he has to take his lumps & earn it like we all did. The good of bageling Pac far outweighed the bad of bageling my brother." " Amen brother!" Chimed in Adamcik. As usual Pac had some excuses for the bagel, " We tried, but my teammate had just finished harvesting his crop of winter wheat & had just finished two sets before, so his tank was on empty by the time the third set started, I look forward to redeeming myself in the future." Joe Slavik was reached for comment, but he was still in a state of shock after coming within an eyelash of losing his life to a devastating overhead smash courtesy of his brother Rob ( which incidentally was called out.)

The Patel family was reached for comment, & Alisa Patel, speaking on behalf of the family, had this to say, " Once again we are terribly embarrassed by Pac getting bageled. So embarrassed in fact, that my husband Pratike & I are going down to Panama to hide out with the rebels until this whole thing blows over."

The post match ritual was in doubt when the Italian Ice joint & the Dairy Queen were both closed, so Rob stepped up & they went old school & got a pie from Momma Rosa. Pac stepped up & bought Luigi's Italian Ice from Shop Right. "That was a nice change of pace," stated Adamcik " but I miss my Italian Ice place."

Tentative plans for tennis are scheduled for April 23rd. I will keep you posted.
